Elmo is a 3½ year old[1] furry red Muppet monster with an orange nose. He currently hosts the last full segment on Sesame Street, called "Elmo's World," which is aimed at toddlers. On "Elmo's World," Elmo is accompanied by his goldfish, Dorothy, and the Noodle FamilyMr. Noodle, his brother (known as Mr. Noodle's brother, Mr. Noodle), and his sister (known as Mr. Noodle's sister, Ms. Noodle).
The character is self-described as 3-and-a-half years old, and refers to himself almost entirely in the third person.[2] As with many children of his age, he is seen somewhat infrequently with a favorite toy of his: an orange monster-like doll named David. Elmo lives with his mommy, his daddy, and, in some storybooks, a sister named Daisy.

Dorothy is Elmo's pet goldfish who first appeared on the "Elmo's World" segment of Sesame Street. At six years old (in goldfish years)[1], she is a good friend to Elmo, who can understand what she's saying through her goldfish bowl. Dorothy is inquisitive and possesses an active imagination. Whatever topic is explored, Dorothy mentally pictures a version of Elmo in an appropriate role or form.
Dorothy is not a Muppet, but is portrayed by a real, live goldfish. (Or, given that ten years is an atypical lifespan for even the most gifted goldfish, one might say that Dorothy has been portrayed by a series of goldfish.)

Mr. Noodle appears in the "Elmo's World" segment of Sesame Street. A silent character, Mr. Noodle resides in a realm of his in Elmo's World, accessible from behind Shade. Elmo frequently asks Mr. Noodle to demonstrate how to perform a chore or answer a question. He responds through pantomime, but invariably gets the process wrong, or fails to follow Elmo's instructions. Through trial and error and repeated prompting, Mr. Noodle usually manages to figure it out.
Introduced along with Elmo's World in Season 30, Mr. Noodle was replaced by Mr. Noodle's brother, Mr. Noodle for Season 31. Subsequently, the two Noodles either alternated or occasionally appeared jointly, as in the episodes "Families" and "Games."
Mr. Noodle's sister, Ms. Noodle has been seen with him in the specials Wild Wild West and Happy Holidays, as well as in the episode "Friends."
